Milwaukee Aces take home the Cup

GREEN BAY - The Milwaukee Aces just beat out the Green Lake Drive for the second spot in Sunday's championship match, and then held off the Madison Yard Goats 3-2 in the finals with the team of Kevin Joy and John Pingel getting the clinching third point in the final match of the 2025 Spackler Cup.

The Green Lake Drive won the first ever Spaulding Smails "You'll Get Nothing and Like It" 3rd place trophy after defeating the Fox Valley IronPigs 4 1/2 - 1/2 points in the third-place match. 

​

In the championship, Milwaukee picked up wins from Joe Holschuh and Bryce Puls, and the team of Dave Jamison and Brian Mitchell, while Madison's teams of Dave Bytnar and Dan Ciampa, as well as the team of Jim Wilson and Noah Laedtke collected the Yard Goats' two victories. That left everything up to the team of Joy and John Pingel who came to 18 leading by one hole.

Joy and Pingel would win the 18th hole, giving the Aces the 3-2 victory and the right to be called Spackler Cup champions in 2025. With the win, the Aces will get to decide what course the Cup will be played on in 2026. Details on that will follow by the end of August.

Jamison took home the Al Czervik MVP award and the coveted plaid jacket that goes with it, winning the honor in his rookie season at the Spackler Cup.
